Following the footsteps of luxury mobile phone makers, Motorola has gone glam with the Aura,
a high-end luxury cell phone featuring a swivel design. This inimitably
designed phone touts more than 700 individual components, a 62-carat
sapphire crystal lens, and industry’s first 16-million color, circular
display with 300 dpi resolution. Inspired by luxury watches and
handcrafted design, the Motorola Aura has glossy stainless steel
housing, and the chemically etched textures and patterns further add to
the overall beauty of the device. This luxury phone also features a
mechanical heart-shaped Swiss-made main bearing. Technical specs for
the Aura include 1.55-inch round LCD screen, MMS/SMS/Email support,
music player, 2-megapixel fixed focus camera with video recording,
Stereo Bluetooth, USB 2.0 connectivity, open source mobile web browser,
2GB of internal memory, and 7.3 hours of talk time.
Jim Wicks, corporate vice president and director of Consumer Experience Design, Mobile Devices, Motorola cites:
