by Administrator 8. May 2009 00:00

With several islands off the Great Barrier Reef being “foreclosed” due to filing for administration, Reuters news agency has reported that now is the best time to bag a bargain.

Global real estate agency Coldwell Banker’s Capricorn Coast branch has nine beautiful islands on offer starting at just under $1m. Although thats the price of an average beach front apartment in California, it includes a luxury mansion. The most expensive is $67m.

With some of the islands boasting a full 5 star complex, private docking facilities and enough space to build an expandable airport, it is no wonder that those who can survive the recession are already registering their interest.

Louis Vuitton’s new $265,000 timepiece is a complete in-house creation

by Administrator 9. April 2009 00:32

Louis Vuitton is one of those few luxury brands that are still growing and innovating despite the recession. The brand is all set to win accolades for making a foray into technical watch-making with the company’s new watch collection that are created completely in-house, from conception to completion at its La Chaux de Fonds factory in Switzerland. Tambour Mystérieuse is the most high-end timepiece from the new collection. The watch has a round dial and is composed of a mechanism that is encapsulated by two sapphire crystal discs, allowing the watch itself to float within the bezel framing it. The collections offers a wide array of customizations including monogramming the second hand with the wearer’s initials, selecting gemstones to place on the platinum, white, yellow or red gold case and a choice of leather straps. The masterpiece comes encased in a miniature Vuitton trunk and takes about a year to craft, which justifies its $265,000 price tag. The collection includes few other styles ranging from $8,224 to $10,612.

DiamondPure inscribe nano-photographs on your diamond

by Administrator 19. March 2009 08:23

Diamonds are forever, but this lustrous gemstone is losing its sheen in the recession, and is not considered a healthy investment except for rare diamonds. Still, it will always be symbolized for love and relationships. What makes it even more special is a revolutionary nano-photograph process, called DiamondPure, which permanently embeds high-resolution grayscale photographs on any size diamond to enshrine your loved ones on a piece of jewelry forever. According to the release, the photograph does not interfere with the diamond’s brilliance and beauty, but the photographs are invisible to the naked eye, and are viewable using GemmaView, Gemory’s proprietary, portable viewing device. These photographically enhanced diamonds reinforce themselves as a perfect gift to mark any occasion.

Bang & Olufsen seems to be quite busy these days dropping new products. After the new 40-inch version of the BeoVision 8 TV, the latest announcement from the house is of a behemoth plasma set. The new BeoVision 4-103 is a 103-inch plasma set that will go on sale in July for around 100,000 Euros (approx. $136,470). We have seen such monsters in the past, but the BeoVision 4-103 stands apart from the crowd with a range of innovative features. When you turn it on, the motorized stand rises to the finest viewing level and a triangular-shaped BeoLab 10 loudspeaker appears out of nowhere. This center channel speaker is part of the company’s 7.1 Beosound 5 audio system. The screen turns and tilts according to the user’s preferences. The behemoth features the B&O BeoSystem 3 and the VisionClear technology that automatically adjusts colors and brightness.

Another interesting feature is the automatic recalibration of the TV every 120 hours. The screen resolution sits at 1920×1080 pixels. An anti-reflection coated contrast screen makes for a great viewing experience during daytime viewing. The huge 103-inch screen looks simply striking with its high-grade aluminum frame.

Everything on the BeoVision 4-103 is controlled with the famous Beo5 remote control. Dvice is saying that there’s a Panasonic 103-inch plasma panel inside this B&O TV. If that doesn’t bother you and recession is nothing more than a “word” to you, they will start taking orders for the BeoVision 4-103 plasma set from March 18.
