• Enomatic self-service wine bar

Popular throughout Europe for years, at wine bars and stores, Enomatic is a self-serve wine dispenser. The dispenser can hold up to 16 bottles and features a card reader for self-service usage. The system keeps wine fresh for up to three weeks and custom configurations can be made to hold any number of bottles. Above all, the enomatic dispensers look stunning.

• John Carnett’s home brewing system

John Carnett’s home brewing system is the ultimate piece of invention. The glossy stainless steel system uses a propane burner to boil the wort for 90 minutes, and then it is transferred to the fermenting tank through a heat exchanger. As the name suggests, the heat exchanger then cools the wort to between 53˚F and 63°F. The magic lies inside the fermentation chamber where an electronic temperature controller activates a pump, which circulates liquid through an intricate array of copper tubing. You have to wait for ten to fifteen days and the beer is drained to one of the two serving kegs, where it is further carbonated. The beer then transfers to one of the two serving kegs. As it pours into your glass, it is finely chilled. Priced at $4,315.

• Chassis bartender bot

At times, when you want another mug of beer, but are too drunk to go get one, wouldn’t it be great if a genie could pour endless mugs until you say STOP? Chassis, the beer pouring robot built by Jonathan Foote and Al Honig to enjoy your uninterrupted drinking binge has a built-in chrome grill beneath his turn signals which is a speaker for audience interaction. All you have to do is start giving commands with headset and cordless phone transmitter and direct the robot using the remote control. Chassis comes in a fiery red coating.

• Fagor Beer Dispenser

The Fagor Press-05 Beer Dispenser is a sleek and modern take on the old barrel and keg with the unit’s smooth aluminum shooter being compatible with tanks and cans of beer up to 5 liters. The dispenser maintains the temperature of the beverage just right along with a sturdy pressure to deliver the smoothest flow of beer until the last drop.

• CDA integrated beer dispenser

The integrated beer dispenser from CDA fits neatly into a 60cm tower unit and the appliance is ready to dispense chilled beer within five minutes of installation. The contemporary stainless steel finish is illuminated with stylish blue LED lighting. The hidden chiller offers variable temperature control to cater for your personal preferences. The built-in beer dispenser comes complete with a steel-mounted professional connection kit that sits below in a standard kitchen cupboard. The kit consists of CO² cylinder, keg adaptors, temperature gauge and variable pressure gauge allowing for precise pressure control guaranteeing the perfect ‘pub’ pint for nearly $2300.

BMW's iDrive 4.0 brings in a horde of new features

by Administrator 28. October 2008 17:52

Doggedly criticized iDrive, the central control system in many BMWs, has now received a major update and the newest version allows users to skip to functions more quickly. In BMW’s officially fourth version of iDrive, they have replaced the compass-based user interface with a traditional vertical list and branching-tree structure. This makes for faster navigation. Other than that, many other new features have been included. The iDrive control knob is still positioned ahead of the center armrest and it comes surrounded by a cluster of seven buttons. The seven buttons include access to CD, main menu, phone, radio, navigation, options screen, and the “Go Back” button. The voice recognition system now enjoys a faster computer processor and 80 GB of hard drive that ensures faster operations. The engineers at BMW still preferred a 8.8-inch widescreen non-touchscreen display for the iDrive system as they think it’s more easy and safe to use the knob.

You will also find a connector for your iPod in the armrest, and the track, album and artist information will appear on the iDrive screen. You can also rip CDs directly to the hard drive or copy digital music files from any device hooked to the USB port of the new version. The iDrive 4.0 is available for an extra $2000 in the 2009 3 Series and 1 Series BMWs.

Pimping the vehicles with gold, diamond and precious stones does help to exhibit your opulence on the roads. A few months back, we did a list on 12 bling-bling vehicles, and afterwards, we spotted the Golden Porsche and the Red Toyota Camry with 24-karat gold wheels. Now, luxury customization company, Alchemist has covered the outer surface of an Aston Martin DB7 in 24-carat gold and platinum leaf. The gold-and-platinum Aston Martin will be showcased at the MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show in London, the day after the opening of the new James Bond flick Quantum of Solace. Creative director Jacques Blanc at Alchemist quoted…
